Singers Wanted!

What is about singing that makes us feel great? Working together towards the same goal, experiencing the deep satisfaction of making sounds in our bodies, building community through music? Yes to all of the above!

If you love to sing music with a Jewish focus with a great group of women, consider joining Lirit Women’s Chamber Choir. We start up again at the end of October. We’d love to hear you and hear from you!

Lirit New Composition Award 2019

It’s that time of year again! For the second time, we are inviting composers to submit new compositions, but this time with a twist. We are providing the poem! Jill Solnicki has given us permission to set her whimsical poem, “The Last Note”, to music. Due date is May 13, 2019.

Audience members at our Toronto concert last May heard Jill as the wonderful Narrator in the songs by composer Andrea Clearfield.

Here are the details and the poem.

The Last Note

After our fantastic summer, we are really excited to be back working together again.

Next stop – Peterborough! Lirit is singing at the Peterborough Jewish Community Centre on Saturday, November 10. This will be a great evening and a fundraiser for the JCC. On our programme will be music by Allan Naplan, Michelle Green Willner, Judy Adelman Gershon, Eric Whitacre, and others.
